Franklin Johnson, M.D. is a trained General Surgeon in practice since 1975. A major part of his experience has been the treatment of vein diseases. Since 1991 he has dedicated himself exclusively to the treatment of vein problems, hirsutism and photorejuvenation.
Since 1998 Frank Johnson MD has been perfecting the technique of photorejuvination called Epifacial® which was developed by Franklin Johnson, M.D. and Maria DoVale, C.M.A., C.M.M.
He has presented conferences in the use of the Intense Pulsed Light for treatment of veins, pigmented lesions and photorejuvenation in:
- Tokyo and Osaka, Japan
- Buenos Aires, Argentina
- Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and more recently in
- Barcelona, Spain
Maria DoVale has also spoken at meetings in New Orleans, LA, Sacramento, CA, and Toronto, Canada
Dr. Johnson in cooperation with Maria DoVale have recently published an article on hair removal in darker skin patients in the Journal of Cutaneous Laser Therapy.
In 1999, Dr. Johnson and Maria Dovale founded the IPL Educational Institue in order to educate physicians and other health professionals in the proper use of Intense Pulsed Light. Over the past 12 months, 24 seminars have been held in the use of IPL and NdYAG 1064 for hair and vein removal and also in the use of the Epifacial photorejuvenation. Over 400 health professionals have taken advantage of this.
In addition, one to one preceptorships have been carried and over 100 professionals were trained.
